World’s Most Comprehensive Cycling Performance Center coming soon to Scottsdale, Arizona

World’s Most Comprehensive Cycling Performance Center
coming soon to Scottsdale, Arizona

Cycling and Triathlon performance facility with Wind Tunnel, 3D Bike Fitting, Retail, Repair, and a suite of comprehensive performance and recovery services in perfect Southwestern climate.

Scottsdale, Arizona. (February 07, 2011) - – - Cyclists the world over can discover their best performance ever with the launch of the aptly named FASTER. Designed to deliver affordable services normally reserved only for the most privileged professional athletes, FASTER is a potent mix of performance services and retail for the recreational and competitive cyclist or triathlete.

FASTER will house a full-service cycling-focused wind tunnel, high end performance retail sales including frames, wheels, and components, cutting edge bike fitting, along with the most comprehensive list of services to enhance every client’s cycling performance. A day at FASTER could start with a bike fitting in the morning to purchase or refine the perfect bicycle. Mid-morning a client could test themselves and their aerodynamics in the wind tunnel, and later go for a ride in perfect cycling surroundings. Upon the customers return from their ride a concierge will take their bike to the service department for detailing, repairs, or any upgrades while they change and/or clean up in high-end locker rooms. The rest of the day could be occupied by massage, hot and cold recovery therapies, high tech pressure recovery boots, or nutritional consultation. The facility will also offer a full range of performance testing, physical therapy, and chiropractic services.

“FASTER is designed to deliver a better cycling experience through a very scientific, but friendly customer service oriented experience. Our cycling performance specialists are highly trained to help all cyclists and triathletes perform better”, said Paraic McGlynn, a highly respected cycling industry veteran of 20 years experience who will oversee all performance services, as well as daily operations. “Our services are unbiased by ability, experience or fitness level, we simply want the best solutions for everyone delivered in the most professional manner, in the best facility by talented courteous professionals”.

While the general public now has access to previously unavailable or affordable services, FASTER has not taken its’ eyes off the professional athlete. The wind tunnel will service professional athletes and aim to be the ultimate research and development facility to the manufacturers that fabricate frames, wheels and the aerodynamic related products that cyclists use. As a result, Scottsdale just got a whole lot more attractive as a winter training location for the world’s finest two wheeled athletes.

“Our intention in creating FASTER was to give a one-of-a-kind experience to every local or visiting customer. Our philosophy, technology, tools, methodologies and personnel are completely dedicated to making cyclists and triathletes FASTER”, said company founder, James Kramer. “Best of all, those visiting from cold or wet environments will depart from here knowing they will ride more comfortably and efficiently back home, but will also be energized by the warmth and sunshine they get to experience!”

West Valley Cycle Update – 1/26

A new update from Vicki Young of the West Valley Cycle:

————–

So far, David in Tokyo, is “eating the best sushi (raw squid & salmon eggs), communicating through an interpreter in the most interesting meetings of his life” …all on 3 hrs of sleep in 40 hrs! -10 degrees, he’s off to Seoul Korea for an authentic Korean BBQ!…more to come!

This Saturday Start Time is 7:30am

Recap: ~40 riders this last Saturday braving the cooler temperatures from the week before. Rick Baldwin toughing it out with the “A” group to the Top of Cotton! Greg (visiting from Cincinnati ) pushing the Pace while some “trying” to take it easy before Sunday’s Avondale Crit! …and then, periodically, Shawn Ingram cheering obnoxiously. hmm

2nd group formed a nice rotation, turning on Dean (because Joe wanted to), and then ALL faced that Brutal norm of a headwind, towards Bashes in Verrado.

Nice to See BACK Ramon Garcia, Dan Simmons, Paul Thiesen…. and even Chris Wood, coming out of the wood work on a early, cold, Windy Sunday morning!

Sprint Winners: Steve Klock (Swiss Amer.), Jared Williams (PCCC), and one of our top records x4, Darren Hancock!

King/Queen Pullers: (A) Ken Ferguson, Leo LaMarca, Sean Bell, Trevor Moody, Randy Westacott, Brian Mohler, Derek Finman

(B) Joe Lozon, Matt Duke, Paul Thiesen, Rey Caraveo, Mike Smith, Rob Demers, Dan Simmons, Ramon Garcia

The Dawn of a New Era…..

Web-Op / Focus Cyclery join forces to create new 2011 AZ Road / Cyclocross Team

PHOENIX (Jan. 07, 2011) – Web-Op SEO, Focus Cyclery and Treehouse Group are pleased to announce the launch of Web-Op/Focus Racing, an East Valley Phoenix-based cycling team that brings together well-recognized Phoenix-area riders committed to the development of Arizona bicycle racing in a fun and positive environment.

Over the past decade, most of the current team members have ridden and trained extensively together, but have competed on different Phoenix-area teams. The formation of Web-Op/Focus Racing represents the first opportunity for many of these experienced cyclists to race together as one team.

Web-Op/Focus Racing is comprised of 19 cyclists ranging from experienced Category 2 riders to those new to competitive racing. Past years of recruiting, supporting and training younger East Valley riders have provided the team with a cadre of future professional cyclists. Several have already achieved impressive results on the national stage, including fourth place 2010 U.S. Cyclocross Junior Mens National Champion Cypress Gorry and U23 National Team Member and first place U23 Hill Climb Arizona State Champion Zach Keller.

Collectively, members of the Web-Op/Focus Racing team have amassed over 100 podium finishes in 2010 and expect to far exceed that in 2011.

In 2011, the team will focus on races throughout the West, while maintaining a strong presence in local Arizona Bicycle Racing Association events. You will see the Web-Op/Focus Racing team in force at the Focus Criterium on April 23 and most all other local and regional races in 2011.

About Web-Op/Focus Racing

Web-Op/Focus Racing is dedicated to growing the sport of cycling, promoting clean racing and providing an environment for motivated cyclists to achieve higher levels of performance through physical fitness, optimal training and the ability to define a clear path towards reaching personal and team goals. The team also seeks to promote and support efforts to maximize quality races in Arizona, bicycle safety, improvement, construction and maintenance of cycling infrastructure in the East Valley and opportunities to advance legislation that further protects area bicyclists.
