Here is a weekly update from West Valley Cycle Group Ride organizer David Herzog. For those that aren’t familiar with it, the West Valley Cycle is a multi level Saturday morning group ride out in Phoenix’s west side. Visit their website for more details: http://members.cox.net/westvalleycycle/
—————
The start time for Saturday is 6:00am. (we did successfully knock off 25 min last week with the quick turnaround at the market and were back to Lifetime by 9am) Thanks for those who purchased ice and water. It helps a lot. Let’s all chip in on this effort.
Sprints: Glenn 3X (Progressive), Ken 2X (Colavita), Jim Holbrook 1 (AZ Masters) (sprint points listed below)
Pulling King/Queen: Leo (the other reason why we shaved off 25 min), Jim Holbrook, Tracy Perez, Amy Vasquez, Brian Murphy, Glenn Allen
Additional Notes: 45 riders last week. The new B group route was perfect and the entire group stayed together for the first half. Nice to have guest riders Mike Smith and John Anderson hanging with the cool group! Always recruiting.
July 4th Sunday Ride event: contact Tim for details: timothyf.fleming@lpl.com Sunday, July 4th, meet at Camelback and Central, Northeast parking lot (where Applebees is). CLIPPED IN AND ROLLING AT 6 A.M. (so we can get done before we melt). We will roll neutral down Central to South Mountain, through the gate, and then let the hammer fest begin! We will go to the very top just like last time. For the fast guys that beat everyone up by about 15 minutes, I suggest that group rolls half way down and climbs the last mile again. This way the fast group won’t be waiting around for slower riders. We will regroup at the top, descend to the Circle K at the bottom, grab some water and snacks and head back to the parking lot. 2 sprint points on the way back just like last time.
