Based on the amount of times this post has been viewed vs. the amount of votes casted… it would appear most readers don’t really care if we have a ‘forum’ or not. Is that true?

  2. JP Christensen says:

The forum at AZCycling is usually just a vitriol repository so to not have one here would be ideal.

  3. Shane says:

    Ditto.

However… isn’t it kind of like a car wreck? Can’t help but look?

We’re leaning more and more towards it each day!

    Thanks for everyone’s input!

Any one have a good suggestion for a forum application/plugin to look in to?

  8. Admin says:

Trying to install forum, but having difficulties. I’ve uploaded the plugin, just can’t quite get it to appear under the ‘Forum’ page…

  9. Suicideking says:

The difficulty can be what or how your server is set up (i.e windows, apache, etc) and what the forum operates off of (php is the most common) . Oft times the difference will require a seperate server. if you are using virtual space its usually just an addon space with php admin rights. check out AZfixed.com, or the bicyclehaus ride forum. for an example of a forum run off of the vanilla platform, its an independent free forum that appeals to the programming types as it allows for independent construction of applications and add ons.
if you need help with any of the practical applications i would be glad to see if its something i could contribute to.

Thanks for the advice. As you have probably seen, I have the forum up and running now. I went with Simple Press Forum and integrated it into the site. I did check out the Vanilla Forum’s and considered them.

I have the forum locked for now. I need to continue to dial it in before I turn it over to the readers. Also, I’d like to create a custom page for it with the proper width to house the forum (i.e. no sidebar). Still trying to figure that one out… I’m no computer guy.
