Phoenix Consumers Criterium Series kicks off TONIGHT!

The Phoenix Consumers Criterium Series , aka Tuesday Night Worlds, is set to kick off tonight in Phoenix. For those that know, the crit series has been going on for ages… I would guesstimate the definition of ‘ages’ to be about 15 years. It was once in North Scottsdale in the Princess Resort area and many years back transferred to its current location at the Phoenix Municipal Stadium parking lot. Yes, it’s in a parking lot, but before you blow it off I’d recommend coming out and giving it a try. The course is wide open, typically well swept of debris, and well enough lit to race in the twilight hours. Regardless of all of that, it’s a great way to get weekday speed work and intensity in without having to go pound yourself on some non-descript road all the while thinking “this sucks, I just want to go home and have dinner”. Misery loves company, eh?

That’s it with this ramble.

Here are the stats:

WHO: You!

WHAT: Phoenix Consumers Criterium Series aka The Tuesday Night World Championships

WHERE: Phoenix Municipal Stadium (SW corner of Priest and Van Buren)

WHEN: Every Tuesday from February 2nd – April 27th. Note: March 9th is re-scheduled for March 11th.

WHY: Because if you don’t get decent mid-week intensity in, you will get pounded come the weekend racing.

See you out there.
