And The Winner Is…

And the winner is…

well, we don’t know yet.

And won’t know til Friday at 5pm. At the moment it appears that the Scottsdale GP and the Arizona State Road Race Championships are neck and neck for “2009 Best Arizona Race”. I still wouldn’t count out the San Tan Criterium. Given their large membership base, if they were to rally their votes they could make a comeback!

I’d like to thank everyone for stopping by this dog-and-pony show of a website to vote. Don’t forget you can vote daily, so feel free to cast another one if you haven’t done so already. I’d also like to encourage all the Arizona readers who are visiting this website, reading the post, and not voting on a race to please do so. Given the site’s analytics, I would estimate that 1/2 of those reading the post are actually clicking the button to vote. Come on folks, we’ve made it pretty easy here! Click away!

That’s all for now. Happy voting!

I have no idea what you’re talking about. There is no button in this post to vote for anything, and no link either.

But with that said, it appears that you’re having a popularity contest for bicycle races. I do not follow bicycle racing, have never seen a race, have never even seen promotional materials for any races. I belong to a large bike club in the East valley and I have never heard any mention at all of any races.

So if half your readers aren’t taking part in your contest, perhaps now you know why.

Let me be the first to thank you for your unwavering support of USA cycling events and its organizations in the past.
The poll you are looking for appears to be successfully hidden under the mischievous heading; “Older posts” but can be located here:

    Best race of 2009

I will assume your extensive East valley cycling club experience will take over once you get that poll in front of you and your decision will undoubtedly be based purely on function with little or no regard to form (think about that oversized seat bag, the frame pump, the bar mounted rearview mirror, and the 64-function trip computer your gracing your bike currently). That kind of ingrained logic is hard to argue with and even more difficult to overcome. However I would like to tender a suggestion and perhaps you, not unlike the bottom bracket on your ’85 Raleigh, can be swayed.
    Cyclo de Mayo!
Dont let the fancy tag fool you, although the name suggests otherwise, Cyclo de Mayo has nothing to do with creamy salad dressing and everything to do with racing bicycles. It was the premiere cycling event of 2009 and threatening to repeat in 2010 with a little help from the cycling community at large and possibly, future supporters like yourself.

“Cyclo de mayo in twenty ten for the win”

suicideking – My Raleigh is a ’83 not an ’85. It still gets used on occasion when the family goes out for a ride. My grandson is not really big enough to ride it, but he does anyway.

What seat bag do you recommend? I imagine that racers have to carry a lot of extra tools and spare parts that us “normal folks” wouldn’t have to.

    Best,
    Larry
