Just in from David Herzog, organizer of the West Valley Cycle group ride:
———-
All,
Start time moves to 7:00am this Saturday. Web site is up to date.
· Last week brought out 40+ riders. From my vantage point, Matt (red bike) won the first sprint from a long impressive lead out, Jim S/Chris tied on Estrella, and Shaun put the hammer down and won the final three sprints.
· Several new riders like Aaron and Scott are great additions. With Dave J finally on the distribution list, I can throw some accolades his way. Dave gets stronger every week and a positive attitude that typifies what our group stands for.
· Lost our B group, Could we be getting too strong? Matt and I had the pleasure to ride the first half with Mike B. and Don in his preparation for Arizona Ironman only to find no B group, all were up front. I will be looking for my B group this week after traveling these last three days.
· I’ve had some request for a one time route change to mix it up, the two top options are riding to South Mountain or out to the end of Rainbow Valley. I’m leaning towards Rainbow via Estrella Parkway. Welcome your opinion. We’ll try one of these options Nov 21st.
· Race results, at the top of the list is Cheryl and Stephanie on Las Vegas Half Ironman. An extremely tough course. Cheryl took 3rd in her age group and Stephanie took 13th. Of note was Steph’s awesome swim time. Congrats! Also, Glenn rode the AZ Heart Century ride. A brutal test of hill climbing. Just the mention of this ride brings back nightmares I can point back to my dear friends Joe, Shane and Jim M…
· Michelle, 7:30 start is coming soon, keep training, I remember your promise. Also, Joe and I are proud to welcome Ron Jensen to the mountain bike racing world. We had the pleasure of trying to chase him on a training ride in the White Tanks last week. I’m taking odds on the next race if you are interested.
· Best of luck to our Arizona Ironman and Tour De Tucson participants in their final preparation.
