Doug Roether Tribute – Tonight!

Don’t forget to tune in to BicycleRadio.com this evening for a special tribute to Doug Roether.

More info here.

The show will run in its normal format from 7:00pm – 7:45pm (Phoenix time). At 7:45pm they will play a few previously recorded interviews with Doug before opening up the phone lines for listeners, friends, and family to share stories and memories of Doug. According to Sean Mellor of Bicycle Radio, “if it goes an hour, it goes an hour. If it goes til midnight, it goes til midnight”. The hope is to let the tribute organically unfold live on the air. If it’s too personal or emotional to call in but you still want to share something, send an email to live@bicycleradio.com and they will be happy to read it tonight on the show.

Thanks.

  1. I’ve known Doug since the mid-80′s. He was always a great guy. He was the dude, and later the rep, that would give you the shirt off of his back. He was a gentleman and an all around fine human being. I am honored to have had Doug as a friend. Thank you for hosting the Tribute radio broadcast.

  2. Met Doug in 1984, having moved to Tempe from Rockford, IL.
He was a really fun, nice, energetic guy and extremely skilled on the bicycle (and off).
I moved away in 1989 and haven’t heard much about Doug or many of the other folks I raced “with” in Arizona.
So sorry to hear the news of the loss (from this earth) of such a nice man.
I wish his family and friends only fond memories and my sympathies go out to all whom he touched.
Best in life, health, and cycling,
    Andrea Tollefsrud, Boulder Colorado
