I was very fortunate to have been an understudy of Doug's at Bike Chalet in Mesa in the early '90's. He taught me a lot about customer service, bike fitting, and how to pedal faster!
I was deeply saddened to hear of Doug's passing. I know I would not be where I am today without his guidance and teaching.

Thanks Doug, you will be missed.

Doug was one of the best people I have ever met. He was casual to the point of giving out mankisses, and being playful enough to do a running slide on a couch at the Absolute Bikes party in Flagstaff. On a professional level, he was top notch, and he held that standard in his personal life. He has always been a good friend of mine, even with my faults. I will really miss him, and his snarky comments. I was blessed to know him, and to call each other friends, as his standard was pretty high, and I will miss his laughter, jokes, and comments more than I can even attempt to type here.

My prayers go to Doug and I know he is going to spend enough time in hell to have a good time, and then will be pulled, probably kicking and screaming into heaven.

I miss Doug, and I wish his wonderful wife comfort and peace.

I have known Doug since 1991. Always polite, he is never afraid to tell you the truth. He is an honest businessman, and always looked out for the little guy. We were not close the last few years, but it is like no time has passed when I see him. Doug, keep riding.

Doug, Thanks for everything! So much of my life today is owed to you and your endless amounts of knowledge and advice. You touched so many any will be missed tremendously. I'll be bringing you with me with every ride I do.
