Any Doctors Out There?

I’ve had a few recent inquires into Phoenix-based doctor’s (general practitioner) who ride bikes. The thought is that if they are cyclists themselves, they may have a better understanding of our health needs as endurance athletes. Things like: antibiotics while racing?, iron deficiencies, asthma, allergies, winter/early spring time illness, etc. We all know that there aren’t a lot of sports as demanding as cycling and it would be nice to have a network of local general practitioners who understand our strengths and deficiencies as athletes.

So… we’re tossing this out to you all for some suggestions. If you’re a GP doctor or you have a great GP with an understanding of cycling, please drop us a comment or send an email to info@velocitygroupaz.com

Thanks.

  1. Great inquiry. Just introduced to your site and it looks great! I offer an integrated approach in my practice, having been trained as both a naturopath and an osteopath. Since I am in a family medicine residency in Kingman currently, I get down to Phx to see patients in my wife’s Anti-Aging Therapies clinic in Glendale only a couple of times per month, on Saturdays. As an avid cyclist myself I love working with cyclists’ needs/injuries. I offer injection therapy including prolotherapy, manipulation, and IV nutrition (see website). Plans to come back to the Phx area upon completion of the residency up here. Give a call if you have any questions.

  2. I thot our website would come up on my earlier response but it looks like it didn’t. Here it is:

I’ve been going to David Hatfield for the last few years and has been very helpful. He’s a tri guy, but don’t hold that against him :) He’s often on the usery pass group rides in the mornings. He has offices in Mesa and Chandler.
